HGV Class 2 Multi-Drop Driver

Driver Hire Southampton is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers on behalf of a well-established national distribution business. Our client plays an important role in supplying independent retailers and convenience stores across the UK, delivering essential goods directly to local businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for regular work with a reputable company and modern vehicles.

The Role

• Driving a modern HGV Class 2 vehicle delivering to local retail customers
• Carrying out multi-drop deliveries to convenience stores and independent retailers
• Completing approximately 4–8 deliveries per shift
• Safely unloading palletised goods using a pump truck
• Providing excellent customer service at each delivery location
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time
• Working independently while representing both Driver Hire and our client professionally

Shift Details

• Start time: 05:00am
• Immediate start available
• Routes are primarily within the Southampton and Portsmouth areas
• Occasional deliveries may extend to surrounding areas, including locations such as Reading, Swanage, and the wider region
• Driver’s mate support will be provided where required

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Minimum 1 year driving experience (subject to insurance requirements)
• Must be aged 25+ for insurance purposes
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Comfortable with manual handling and using a pallet truck
• Good communication skills and a professional approach
• Reliable, punctual, and able to provide excellent customer service
