We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our client for 4-5 weeks, operating out of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
This is a tramping role, requiring nights out, delivering across the UK while representing our company with professionalism and care.
You’ll be responsible for the safe operation of Class 1 vehicles, ensuring goods are transported efficiently, securely, and with exceptional customer service.
- £15.69ph (includes holiday pay up front) + overtime rate
- Night-out allowance
Based on the specifications within our driver-insurance policy, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Essential
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Maximum 9 penalty points on licence (no active bans)
- Must NOT have had any of the following conviction codes in the last 5 years (as per insurance restrictions):
- AC10–AC30, BA10–BA60, CD40–CD90, DD10–DD90, DG10–DG60, DR10–DR90, IN10, LC30–LC50, MR09–MR59, MS50–MS90, UT50, TT99
- Must be over 23 years old for full insurance coverage (younger candidates may be considered but higher excesses apply)
This role involves staying out in the vehicle during the week. You must be comfortable:
- Spending nights away from home
- Keeping the cab clean and secure
- Managing driving/rest periods professionally
