Van Driver
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Monday to Friday
Location: Steeple Morden
Driver Hire Stevenage are seeking a Delivery Driver/Workshop Assistant to join their customers production team, working in their busy carpentry and metal workshops. The ideal candidate will have clean UK driving licence, and a forklift licence ( although training can be given on this). Previous yard/carpentry workshop experience useful in this role.
Duties
– Delivering gates to customers throughout South and South East England, and navigating routes efficiently
– Assist in loading and unloading goods at delivery locations and at our yard, manually or with forklift/hiab
-Assist with lifting and wrapping of driveway gates
-Painting and oiling of wooden gates
-General tidying in workshops to include hoovering sawdust and emptying bags
-Assisting with moving and controlling stock
– Communicate effectively with the production team
Qualifications
– Previous experience as a delivery driver and/or working in metal/wood environment is advantageous
– Forklift licence desirable
– Must be physically fit as the gates and stock items can be heavy
-React positively to requests for assistance from the team, able to be flexible and respond well to change
-Proactive and able to notice when a task needs to be done
-Take pride in doing a good job
