Driver Hire Ayrshire & Dumfries, has a new owner – Matthew McClymont. He’s the son of Thomas McClymont, who’s owned and operated Driver Hire Ayrshire & Dumfries for nearly two decades.
Matthew – pictured (left) with his team – won’t be a stranger to regular clients of this highly successful business. He’s been a key part of the Driver Hire Ayrshire & Dumfries team for the last eight years, during which he’s learnt every element of the business – including working as an HGV driver.
“It’s always been the plan for me to run the business when my father decided to retire,” says Matthew. “I’m very excited to be taking over from him and am looking forward to continuing the Driver Hire Ayrshire & Dumfries success story.”
Driver Hire Ayrshire & Dumfries, which has offices in Prestwick and Dumfries, is one of the Driver Hire network’s top performing offices. In the budget year to April 2024, its five-person achieved turnover in excess of £1.4M. The business covers around 200 shifts a week and regularly finds work for 40 drivers.
