HGV 2 Dustcart Driver

Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV 2 Dustcart Drivers to join our pool of drivers. This role involves operating a dustcart vehicle to collect waste and recyclables efficiently across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a valid HGV 2 licence, with experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental management while ensuring community cleanliness and hygiene. We have multiple roles currently available with opportunities for full time work

Duties

• Safely operate an HGV 2 dustcart vehicle along specified routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Collect waste and recyclable materials from residential, commercial, or industrial sites as per schedule.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure the secure loading and unloading of waste materials, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of collections, route logs, and any incidents during shifts.
• Assist with manoeuvring the vehicle in tight spaces or challenging environments as required.
• Follow all health and safety procedures to minimise risks during operations.

Skills

• Valid HGV 2 licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with dustcarts or similar waste collection vehicles.
• Familiarity with flatbed operations is advantageous for handling specialised equipment or materials.
• Strong driving skills with the ability to navigate urban and rural routes efficiently.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and route timings effectively.
• Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients as needed.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety standards throughout the shift.
