Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join a well-established waste management and recycling company based in East Lothian.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and experienced driver looking for stable, full-time work with consistent hours and the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

🚛 The Role

As a Class 2 Skip Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a Class 2 skip vehicle safely and efficiently
• Delivering, exchanging and collecting skips from commercial and domestic customers
• Working across East Lothian and the surrounding areas
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
• Ensuring skips and loads are handled and transported safely
• Completing all work in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements
• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
• Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times

🕒 Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 6:15am start
• Minimum 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Overtime opportunities available
• Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate

💷 Pay Rates

PAYE

• £15.00 per hour
• £19.99 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £16.81 per hour
• £22.40 per hour after 8 hours

🪪 Requirements

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous skip, waste or Class 2 driving experience is advantageous
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working in an outdoor environment
