Driver Hire Yeovil & Shepton Mallet is recruiting an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver for a well-established local business based near Warminster.
This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for a reliable driver looking for long-term, full-time work with a respected local employer.
The role involves delivering bulk products to rural, agricultural and commercial sites across the region. Deliveries will mainly be completed using a Class 2 curtainsider vehicle, with goods loaded and unloaded by forklift.
You may also occasionally be required to drive a van for smaller deliveries where a Class 2 vehicle is not required.
The Role
Your duties will include:
Driving a Class 2 curtainsider vehicle.
Delivering bulk products to rural, agricultural and commercial sites.
Completing deliveries where goods are loaded and unloaded by forklift.
Driving a van for smaller deliveries when required.
Completing daily vehicle checks.
Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
Providing a professional and reliable service to customers.
Driving safely on rural roads and accessing farms, yards and smaller sites.
Following written directions where satellite navigation may not be accurate.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
A valid Class 2 Category C driving licence.
A valid Driver CPC qualification card.
A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
A minimum of one year of Class 2 driving experience.
Confidence driving on rural roads and in agricultural settings.
The ability to safely access farms, yards and locations with restricted access.
A professional, reliable and flexible approach.
No more than six penalty points for minor offences.
ADR Training
ADR experience is not essential.
For the right candidate, the client may provide ADR training and upskilling. This is an excellent opportunity to gain an additional qualification and further develop your professional driving career.
