Driver Hire Bristol is recruiting for a professional and organised Transport Manager to support a busy waste and recycling operation based in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transport professional to oversee a team of drivers, manage fleet compliance, and coordinate daily transport operations.

Permanent Position | Early Starts | Every Other Saturday

The Role:

• Oversee the daily running of commercial waste collection routes
• Manage and support a team of 9 drivers
• Coordinate route planning, vehicle allocation, and operational scheduling
• Start time 04:00, Monday to Friday
• Every other Saturday required as part of the operational rota
• Ensure compliance with DVSA, Operator Licence, Drivers’ Hours, and Working Time regulations
• Monitor vehicle maintenance, defect reporting, and fleet availability
• Promote high standards of health & safety across the operation
• Handle transport administration, reporting, and driver performance management
• Work closely with operational teams to maintain efficient service delivery

What You’ll Need:

• Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport supervisory role
• Strong understanding of transport compliance and fleet management
• Knowledge of Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and Operator Licence regulations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage early-start operations effectively
• Waste, recycling, logistics, or fleet operations background desirable
• National CPC qualification desirable
