Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative

Driver Hire Uxbridge are recruiting for a reliable and hard-working Delivery Driver and Warehouse Operative to join our client, a plumbers’ merchant based in Hayes

£24,420.00 – £35,957.71 per annum

Monday to Friday  7am starts daily
8 hours minimum day, Overtime after 9 hours
30min unpaid break

This is a full-time, practical role where you’ll spend most of your day delivering plumbing and heating products to local trade customers using a company van. When you’re not out on deliveries, you’ll support the warehouse by handling incoming goods, picking orders, and maintaining an organised workspace. No prior experience in plumbing or heating is required—just a full UK driving licence, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.

Main Duties:

Driving and Deliveries (main focus):

• Deliver customer orders using a company van
• Drive safely and professionally at all times
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects (fuel, tyres, fluid levels, etc.)
• Provide a punctual, customer-focused delivery service
• Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and resolve any issues
• Load and unload the van, ensuring all items are checked before delivery

Warehouse Duties:

• Receive and inspect deliveries from suppliers
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch
• Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting as required
• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised warehouse

Requirements:

• Valid UK CAT B manual licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN MS90)
• Age 25 years+ for insurance purposes
• Minimum 1 years experience as a commercial Van Driver/Multi-drop (references required)
• No more than a 45 minute commute for you to travel to work
• Physically fit, lifting involved
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
