🚛 Class 2 (Category C) Driver – Ongoing Role | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

📍 Edinburgh – East & West Depots

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Drivers for a long-established client, with positions available at both Edinburgh West and Edinburgh East depots.

This is an ongoing opportunity with a genuine temp-to-perm pathway, ideal for drivers seeking stability, strong rates of pay, and consistent, reliable work.

🕒 Working Patterns

📍 Edinburgh West

📅 Start: Early February 2026 | Temp-to-Perm

Alternating rota:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday – 11:00am starts

  • Week 2: Sunday 8:00am start, then Monday to Thursday/Friday – 11:00am starts

📍 Edinburgh East

📅 Start: Late February 2026 | Ongoing until late June 2026

Alternating rota:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday – 8:00am starts

  • Week 2: Monday to Saturday – 8:00am starts

➕ Additional Shifts (Both Sites)

Extra shifts regularly available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, including holiday cover.

⏱ Start times: 7:00am or 11:00am, depending on operational needs.

💰 Pay Rates

Monday–Friday:

  • £14.70 per hour – PAYE

  • £16.47 per hour – PAYE Advanced

Overtime (after 8 hours):

  • £22.05 per hour – PAYE

  • £24.71 per hour – PAYE Advanced

Saturday:

  • £22.05 per hour – PAYE

  • £24.71 per hour – PAYE Advanced

Sunday:

  • £29.40 per hour – PAYE

  • £32.95 per hour – PAYE Advanced

✅ Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
✅ Weekly pay (holiday accrual included unless PAYE Advanced selected)

🚚 The Role

  • Driving a Class 2 vehicle completing multi-drop deliveries across Edinburgh and surrounding areas

  • Working alongside a driver’s mate to assist with loading, unloading, and heavier items

  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time

  • Conducting daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork accurately

  • Providing excellent customer service at every delivery point

✅ Requirements

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence

  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card

  • No more than 9 penalty points (no DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling

  • Minimum 12 months’ Class 2 driving experience
