Driver Hire Borders are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction client for an experienced Site Manager to join their operational team in Selkirk.

You’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of a new build social housing project, working closely with Pre-Construction, Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure the project runs safely, efficiently, and on programme.

You will:

  • Liaise with the Pre-Construction team to ensure projects are ready to start on site.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team on cost management and reporting.
  • Produce regular progress reports against programme targets.
  • Support the Contracts Manager with labour planning, daily recording, and weekly reporting.
  • Maintain clear communication with NHBC and Building Control.
  • Promote a strong safety culture in partnership with the SHEQ team.
  • Use IT systems including Work Wallet, MS Office, and Project Commander.
  • Ensure all site activities comply with company Health & Safety policy.

This role is ideal for a proven Site Manager with experience delivering social or affordable housing projects, including flatted developments.

Essential requirements:

  • Trade background and/or construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or SVQ equivalent to SCQF Level 6–7)
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and Health & Safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Valid SMSTS and First Aid certificates
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
