We are seeking a Transport Office Assistant to assist our client located in Newton Abbot. Initially offered as a 6-month cover position, this role could lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. You’ll assist the Transport Manager with day-to-day administration, ensure driver hours remain compliant, and help keep the transport department running smoothly.
Location:
Newton Abbot, South Devon
(On-site role – own transport required for travel to depot)
Salary:
£16.75 (PAYE Standard) – £18.77 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Transport Manager with daily administrative and operational tasks
• Monitor and record driver working hours to ensure full compliance
• Communicate effectively with depot and operations staff regarding driver schedules
• Maintain accurate records and handle daily office duties
• Follow all health, safety, and compliance procedures at all times
Qualifications:
Essential
• Sound knowledge of Driver Working Time Regulations
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Access to own transport to travel to the depot
Desirable
• Previous experience within a transport or logistics office environment
• Working knowledge of driver compliance systems
