Job Description: Driver Hire is seeking a reliable Class 1 Driver for our client in Lockerbie for an ongoing nightshift trunk. Working Monday to Friday you will be covering an A to B trunk with no loading or unloading involved and typically starting anytime between 1800 and 2000. This ongoing contract may lead to a full time permanent position with the client and is a great opportunity for someone to get the foot in the door at a well established company.
HOURLY PAY RATES – £20.17 (inclusive of holiday pay)
HGV Driver Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicles in compliance with all road and traffic regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Ensure timely delivery and collection of goods to designated locations.
- Secure loads and ensure goods are transported safely.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, and hours worked.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
As an HGV Driver you must have:
- Valid Class 1 HGV (C+E) license.
- Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations.
- Excellent driving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills
