Our team
We’re a people business, and so we believe in offering a personal service. If you’re looking for work, we want to know about you and what you’re looking for in your next role.
Looking for staff? Every organisation has particular needs – we want to understand yours.
When you deal with Driver Hire (South Devon), here are the people who’ll be looking after you:
The Team at Driver Hire South Devon, also experts in Driver CPC Training in Devon and Cornwall
Connor Ferguson – Operations Manager
Having completed an apprenticeship in Business Administration, Connor joined Driver Hire in November 2012 from an environmental company. He has learned all aspects of the business and if you call the office will often be the first to answer your call.
Outside Driver Hire, Connor is passionate about football and spent two years at Plymouth Argyle as a junior.
Ben Holtam – Business Development Manager
Ben joined us in January 2017 following an eight-month stint driving for us during a career break. His logistics experience comes from retail “multi-drop” sales in wholesale food and various other seasonal supply chains. Having successfully run his own business for many years, as well as working with a number of large national companies, Ben has a good understanding of how to find the right solution for a customer, with a warm, friendly approach and great empathy.
Outside work, he is a family man with a great interest in music. He has a love for house music and until recently produced his own weekly podcast presenting and mixing his own radio show which was broadcast on several radio stations around the globe. He still DJ’s from time to time and regularly posts his deep and soulful house mixes online under the name DJ BenG.

Kerrie Rundle – Accounts & Payroll Manager
Kerrie joined us from a family business in May 2014 and is firmly entrenched in the “engine room” of the office processing timesheets, invoicing and preparing the accounts. Kerrie has made a huge difference and was promoted (December 2014) from Accounts Assistant to Accounts & Payroll Manager. Like many of us here, she is a real petrolhead and a competitive stock car racer at times.
Tom Williams – Assistant Manager
Tom joined Driver Hire in January 2015 via a recommendation from one of our staff. Following the great reports we received following his one week induction at DH Head Office in Bradford, Tom has developed a great rapport with both our staff and customers. Passionate about Rugby, Tom is luckily First Aid trained.
Tom is part of the 24/7/365 “on-call” rota, so if you call us out of hours, Tom may well be looking after you.
Along with being the Assistant Manager of Operations, Tom is also responsible for customer sales and service in the South Devon area.

Mike Hayward – Senior Recruitment Consultant/Head of I.T.
Mike joined Driver Hire Plymouth in May 2012 as a multi-drop van driver. He has worked with a huge number of our clients and knows most of the “van jobs” back to front and sideways.
In addition to this, he is a very talented I.T. developer/engineer who designed and implemented all our in-house telephone and computer systems.
Mike is also an ex-racer and confirmed petrolhead.
In May 2018, he was persuaded to join our Operations staff, bringing his driver knowledge and technical ability into the office. Welcome Mike!
Becky King – Accounts Assistant
Becky joined the team in January 2016 as an assistant to Kerrie.
Originally having worked in the transport department at one of our big customers, she took some time off to devote to her children.
We are lucky to have Becky’s knowledge of the transport sector and attention to detail in our accounts department.
Rupert Eyre – Transport Co-ordinator & CPC Trainer
Rupert has been with Driver Hire as a 7.5 tonne driver since 2011, but came off the road in December 2016 to help coordinate drivers and vehicles for some of our larger customers.
With his eye for detail and ready sense of humour, he is always a pleasure to work with. With the Driver CPC deadline of September 2019 looming, Rupert is increasingly busy delivering our CPC training courses.
Mark Clarke – Lead Driver (LGV C+E, Hiab, IPAF, Digicard & Driver CPC)
Highly experienced with hugely diverse customers, Mark is in constant demand. Mark’s capabilities span refrigerated artics, tankers, boat transport, IPAF platforms (cherry pickers to you and me), Class C HIABs (rigids with cranes), plant delivery (both flowers and diggers) and much more… call us on 01752 842888 if you need him or another of our crew.
Rod Halling – Managing Director
Rod has had his Class 1 HGV licence since the misty beginnings of time (1977 to be exact). Having experienced multi-drop work (parcels, carpets, wine etc), international artic work from the UK to Scandinavia and Europe, fridge work, tipper work, steel transport and other general haulage work he is in a position to appreciate what it is like at the sharp end.
More recently, Rod has run a variety of businesses from a music recording studio complex, through to a backpackers’ hostel and a specialist furniture business with customers from the music industry (Elton John, George Harrison, The England World Cup Squad…) to big business (South West Water, The Environment Agency, Devon County Council, BT…). Rod aims to treat everybody as he would wish to be treated himself – be it our drivers or customers.
Gibson – Meeter & Greeter
Our very friendly black Labrador who will make you welcome when you call into the office. Having a pocket full of dog treats always goes down well with him!
