Driver Hire are currently looking for an experienced Yard Operative to work with our client in Reading. They are one of the UK’s leading suppliers and distributors of timber and are looking to recruit a Yard Operative on a temp to perm basis.
This client is looking for an individual who is comfortable with working outdoors in all weathers, and who does not shy away from the physical side of work, as this role will involve lifting.
The general duties of this role will include:
-Order picking and loading customers’ as well as our clients vehicles
-Provide excellent customer service, ensuring goods are booked in and out correctly
-Be a team player – assisting on goods inward, learning products, checking correct goods received
-Assisting in the assembly of timber components to order requirements
-After training, use woodworking machinery, forklift truck and other product moving equipment.
This role is Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 17:00.
The following rates of pay are on offer:
– £25,000 per annum once permanent
– £12.00 per hour basic rate whilst on Temp to Perm.
These rates are paid on a PAYE model, and are inclusive of advanced holiday pay.
Successful candidates will have the following:
·Previous Yard Operative with Timber Merchants experience preferred but not essential.
·Attainable references to cover last 3 years.
·Appropriate PPE (safety shoes & hi-viz).
