My client an established manufacturer of metal products is recruiting an experienced Production Manager on a permanent basis. To be considered for this role you will have experience working within the Engineering or Construction Sector.

Primarily the role will be to ensure the smooth running of the Production Department from order to delivery. The ideal candidate will be extremely well organised, diligent with strong people skills. You will have excellent communication both verbally and written and be proactive.

 

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for H&S of the workshop and machinery within the department.
  • Responsible for training & disciplinaries of workshop team.
  • Annual appraisals of your team & development.
  • Schedule and allocating duties to your team to ensure production targets are met.
  • Complete a monthly report for Directors for your department advising on production department and any CAPEX items required detailing why and any savings expected from investments.
  • FSEG H&S meetings provide minutes of meetings with appropriate actions for each department. It will be your responsibility to act on improvements required and ensure these are completed within the set time.
  • Maintain stock levels of critical consumable items PPE, Tools, consumables etc.
  • Be available at short notice (outside normal working hours) to remain onsite to achieve any urgent requirements.
  • Attend Management Meetings as required.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification to NVQ Level 3 Advanced in Mechanical Production Engineering (Craft and Technician) but ideally HNC or HND level and above.
  • Management or Supervisory Training e.g., ILM level 3 or above (ideally level 5)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification advantageous.
  • Experience as a Technician/Engineer in a mechanical production role.
  • Experience as a manager of a department (ideally engineering).
  • Experience of team working (5 or more people).
  • Ideally have 5 GCSE’s including Math’s & English and Science (C or above).
  • Good working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
  • Ideally, experience of Microsoft Dynamics ERP System or similar software.

Normal Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15.30
  • 20-minute paid break
  • 30-minute unpaid break
