We are currently recruiting to secure temp to perm 3.5 ton Van Night Delivery Drivers for  their Basildon Depot

Driver Hire Southend is looking for Night Drivers to join our team.

NIGHT DRIVER

Ongoing Position

Location: Basildon and surrounding area

Salary: £12.88 per hr including holiday pay

Working Hours -10PM – 7AM

5 days a week

Steel toe cap Safety boots, A Hi vis Jacket will be provided

Purpose of the Job:

To deliver an excellent customer service experience in line with our 7am guaranteed delivery time, you will be fundamental in promoting products and growing our customer base.

What you will be doing:

– 200 deliveries/drops within the same area or post code.
– The Home Delivery Driver (HDD) is responsible for delivering products to customers on their designated milk round.
– All residential deliveries are to be made by 7am.
To increase the number of  customers on the round by encouraging traditional residential customers to switch to online accounts.
– You will deliver products to customers on the designated round (including ‘call backs’ where required for cash collections whilst this activity is retained)
– You ensure that all communications with customers are undertaken in a highly professional and competent manner.
– To ensure, at all times, that service levels are maintained in line with customer service standards. Our Client strives to Deliver its Customer Promise to all its customers.
– You will be an ambassador for the delivery function.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– The role involves loading and unloading your delivery vehicle.
– Working as part of the Centre team to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled and correct stock levels maintained, and wastage kept to a minimum.
– Responsible for ordering products as necessary to meet customer requirements.
– To ensure  vehicles are kept clean and smart at all times and to ensure it is operated in line with Company procedures.
– To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager.
– To ensure that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times and that all accidents are reported in line with Company procedures.
– Keep accurate records in order to account for all sales and monies collected and adhere to the Company’s security procedures with regard to handling the paying in of cash
– Ensure that all deliveries and orders are logged on the ERB (Electronic Rounds Book)
– To maintain and develop the profitability of rounds whilst on relief and establish where possible business development opportunities and relay them to the Operations Manager
– To participate in all  promotional activities
– Ensure that all deliveries and orders are logged on the ERB (Electronic Rounds Book)
– To collect customer payments, as required, and ensure the Company’s debt control procedures are followed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

– Valid UK full license with no more than 6 penalty points
– Multi-Drop driving experience.
– Experience of working at Night is strongly desirable as is Good Time Management Flexibility, patience, endurance and good discipline
– A good team player with excellent customer service skills as you will be the face to our customers clients.
– Experience of using handheld sets for deliveries (Electronic Rounds Books – ERB) is desirable
– Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn as training will be provided.
– An ability to understand, organize and follow and complete provided paperwork in a dedicated manner.
– Experience of keeping accurate records.
