Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to support a range of clients across Edinburgh and nearby areas.
We have shifts available immediately, with flexible ad hoc work and the opportunity to secure regular ongoing shifts for the right drivers.

🕒 Working Patterns
- Flexible shifts based on business demands
- Work available throughout Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Weekday and weekend shifts available
- Typical start times of 7:00am or 11:00am
- Extra shifts regularly available during busy periods and holiday cover
💰 Pay Rates
Monday to Friday
- £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
- £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Overtime – After 8 Hours
- £19.32 per hour (PAYE)
- £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
✅ Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
✅ Weekly pay
✅ Overtime opportunities available
✅ Holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced selected
🚚 The Role
- Completing multi-drop deliveries in a Class 2 vehicle
- Working alongside a driver’s mate for loading and unloading
- Handling goods safely, including some heavy items
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and paperwork
- Delivering excellent customer service at every stop
✅ Requirements
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 9 penalty points
(No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements) - Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Minimum 12 months’ Class 2 driving experience
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
