HGV 2 tanker driver
Experience with Tanker / jetting / drainage
Permanent / full time
Salary dependent on experience
Fleet includes a range of 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000-gallon tankers positioned across the UK, ready to handle jobs for commercial and domestic clients at a moment’s notice.
Due to such a high demand, we’re on the lookout for new drivers to deliver our industry-leading wastewater and drainage solutions to our broad customer base. Candidates do not need to have specific drainage industry experience to apply for this role – they only require relevant HGV qualifications, and the enthusiasm to embark on an exciting new career with one of the industry’s most well-respected players.
Tanker driver: responsibilities
Working directly with colleagues you will carry out pre-planned maintenance jobs, as well as performing unplanned emergency works as and when they are required.
As well as driving the tanker itself – categorised as a Class 2 HGV – our drivers will be involved in the assessment of drainage and wastewater problems on site, and in the delivery of practical and efficient solutions to resolve the issues in a way that satisfies the needs of the customer.
Waste removal processes may involve dealing with, manhole chambers, flood basins and hazardous waste; the work also often involves clearing out wet wells, a crucial component of many sewage processing systems, which are often prone to becoming clogged with detritus and solid debris.
As such, all staff need to be highly aware of the health and safety responsibilities they need to uphold when performing a given task. What’s more, the tanker units themselves are refined pieces of kit, and require intelligent handling by well-trained operators.
We are looking for responsible drivers who can combine their vehicle handling skills with a capacity for taking on additional duties, working as part of a team and managing potentially risky work in a safe and conscientious manner, all while delivering the high standard of customer service for which Lanes Group is known.
HGV Class 2 licence at a minimum, in addition to a completed Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and an up-to-date digital tachograph card.
Candidates are expected to provide their own transport to and from their place of work, as well as to demonstrate the kind of attentive, customer-centric professional outlook that will be needed for this role.
