The Home Delivery Driver role is a night-based role with shift times starting at 11pm – 7am.
PLEASE NOTE: whilst training, hours can/will vary so you must be able to be flexible with the shift times.
This is a temp to perm role – 10 weeks paid through us and then on to a permanent contract directly with the client. You must be available to start work immediately.
Flat rate – 48 hours per week across 6 nights (Sunday night – Friday night) regardless of hours worked.
Pay rates as follows:
- £11.20 per hour including holiday pay (PAYE) on timesheets through us
- £26K per year when perm
To deliver an excellent customer service experience in line with our 7am guaranteed delivery time. You will be fundamental in promoting products and growing their customer base.
The Home Delivery Driver (HDD) is responsible for delivering products to customers on their designated milk round.
All residential deliveries are to be made by 7am.
To increase the number of customers on the round by encouraging traditional residential customers to switch to online accounts.
You will deliver products to customers on the designated round (including ‘call backs’ where required for cash collections whilst this activity is retained)
You ensure that all communications with customers are undertaken in a highly professional and competent manner.
To ensure that service levels are always maintained in line with customer service standards.
You will be an ambassador for the companies delivery function.
The role involves loading and unloading your delivery vehicle.
Working as part of the Centre team to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled and correct stock levels maintained, and wastage kept to a minimum.
Responsible for ordering products as necessary to meet customer requirements.
To ensure the delivery vehicles are always kept clean and smart and to ensure they are operated in line with Company procedures.
To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager.
To ensure that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations are always adhered to and that all accidents are reported in line with Company procedures
Keep accurate records in order to account for all sales and monies collected and adhere to the Company’s security procedures with regards to handling the paying in of cash
Ensure that all deliveries and orders are logged on the ERB (Electronic Rounds Book)
To maintain and develop the profitability of rounds whilst on relief and establish where possible business development opportunities and relay them to the Operations Manager
To participate in all of the companies promotional activities
To collect customer payments, as required, and ensure the Company’s debt control procedures are followed
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Must hold a full UK driving licence
Maximum 6 points on driving licence accepted
Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Experience of keeping accurate records
Must be comfortable working alone and with early starts/night work
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (crates can weigh up to 25kg)
Experience of using handheld sets for deliveries (Electronic Rounds Books – ERB) is desirable
