I wanted a new challenge
My career in recruitment paved the way for my current position as a franchisee. I also wanted a new challenge and that’s what Driver Hire gave me. At first I worked for the former management team, but when the franchise became available, I decided to go for it. It was hard work, but I’m very proud of what I have achieved. Our office is one of the top 10 performing Driver Hire offices in the UK, turning over £2m per year.
“We are not like other recruitment businesses. I want all our people to feel part of the team.”
A real sense of achievement
On average, we work with around 50 clients a week. Some of them have been with me for years, so you build up a real rapport with them. We are there for them 24/7. It’s all about providing a flexible, quality service that they know they can trust. I enjoy what I do and I get a real sense of achievement from landing a new client and continuing to build the business.
Not like other agencies
We are not like other recruitment businesses. I want all our people to feel part of the team, and we have great relationships with our drivers too. I bought in to the business with my brother, and now my daughter works here too. I’d love it if she took over from me eventually and continued the success we’ve built together.
