Driver Hire Edinburgh City are delighted to be recruiting for a Class 2 Bin Lorry Driver to join a well-established waste management team operating across East Lothian.

We’re seeking someone who’s dependable, safety-minded, and team-oriented — whether you’re an experienced HGV driver or newly qualified and keen to develop your skills, this role offers a stable, rewarding opportunity.

🔧 Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) bin lorry on scheduled collection routes

  • Work closely with loaders and team members to complete waste and recycling rounds

  • Carry out vehicle checks before and after shifts, reporting any defects

  • Complete all necessary paperwork and compliance logs

  • Follow health, safety, and road regulations at all times

  • Act as a professional representative of the company when engaging with the public

✅ What You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence

  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

Desirable:

  • Previous waste management or bin lorry driving experience

  • Familiarity with East Lothian routes

  • Reliable, punctual, and physically capable of the role

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

🕓 Shift Information:

  • 4 on / 4 off rota – rotating pattern for balance and consistency

  • Early morning starts
