Drivers' Hours and RT(WT)R

EU Drivers’ Hours and Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations are cornerstones of the road transport industry.

However both sets of rule are often not fully understood by professional drivers. This can leave your staff at risk of unintentionally breaking the law. What’s more, given that improving road safety is a key objective for the regulations, helping professional drivers to gain a better understanding of the rules is good news for every road user.

This eLearning module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and all training carried out is recorded. You will be provided with a detailed report, which demonstrates that you have a formal review process in place for your drivers.

The course includes:

  • Driver fatigue
  • EC 561/2006 – Drivers’ Hours Rules
  • Driving times, breaks and rest periods
  • Road Transport (Working Time) Regulation

Course objectives
By the end of the session, learners will be able to demonstrate an awareness of who is a vulnerable road user, the law regarding safety of all road users and the impact that speed has on vulnerable road users. The learner will also have an understanding of safety measures in place to protect vulnerable road users.
