Driver Hire fills a training GAP

Leading plant and tool hire specialists, GAP Group, have 82 depots covering the whole of the UK, and around 200 LGV drivers who must complete their Driver CPC training
to meet the September 2014 deadline. GAP’s geographic spread meant they needed to work with a quality training provider who could match their UK-wide presence.
“Our nationwide network of offices already supplies temporary drivers to GAP,” says Richard Armitage, Driver Hire’s Head of Training. “GAP were keen that all their LGV drivers have their Driver Qualification Card (DQC) well ahead of the deadline. Our own geographic spread means that we’re well placed to assist them with this. We back up our training with effective account management, including online tracking that enables GAP to see exactly the progress each of their drivers is making toward completion of their Driver CPC.”
Catriona Dunning, Head of Human Resources at GAP Group added: “As a responsible employer, we are 100% committed to ensuring our drivers complete their Driver CPC training on time. We see it as an important element in the ongoing professional development of our drivers. We selected Driver Hire as our training partner for the quality of their training and their ability to deliver it at our depots nationwide.”
