On Show At The Show

Driver Hire took its well-earned place alongside the great and the good of the road transport industry at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show, held at Birmingham’s NEC.

As ever there was a big focus on Driver CPC. We’ve now delivered 223,000 hours of training and trained nearly 32,000 drivers, making us an industry leader in the delivery of Driver CPC training.

But it was also an opportunity to showcase new additions to Driver Hire’s suite of online e-services designed to make life easier for people at the sharp end of logistics operations.

The new ‘eFED’ online fuel efficient driving course, developed by Driver Hire, puts significant savings in easy reach for time and cost-stretched businesses. “eFED delivers high quality training whenever and wherever it’s most convenient for your drivers,” says Jeremy Neale, Driver Hire’s IT Director. “That’s a big plus for employers in an industry where tight deadlines are the norm and releasing drivers for training is difficult.”

Linked to eFED is a new risk management dashboard. This hugely useful ‘at-a-glance’ tool will enable operators to monitor driver training, access online skills tests, track accident records and carry out regular online DVLA licence checks. “Changes to driving licence renewals introduced in January this year mean that all LGV drivers now have to renew their vocational licence every five years. Our risk management dashboard makes record keeping easier and helps to alert employers when renewals are due,” Jeremy adds.
