The Driver Hire name clearly travels a long way. In this instance well over 3,500 miles. That’s the distance between Indiana, Pennsylvania and our office in Oxford. Nonetheless when Lynne Alvine, Professor of English at the University of Indiana needed someone to drive a party of students on a cultural trip to the UK, Driver Hire was her first port of call.
“Because of the time difference we sorted the booking out via email rather than phone,” says Tony Summerfield, manager at Driver Hire, Oxford. Whilst I was a little surprised to receive such a long distance enquiry we were of course more than happy to help. Lynne’s party comprised 16 students, and our driver, Allan Newton, drove them around the country on a site-seeing tour, taking in Stonehenge, the city of Bath and Warwick Castle.”
