Don't delay DCPC ain't going away
Have you registered for or completed your first session of Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) training? It certainly makes sense to make a start now. Leave it until after September 2010, and the seven hours you should do now, becomes fourteen.
Category C+E driver, Adrian Bulpin was one of the first drivers to attend a Driver Hire CPC course run by the Ashford office where Adrian is on the books. He definitely felt it was worthwhile. “We covered Drivers’ Working Time Regulations and it was a really useful day,” says Adrian. “I learnt how to use Periods of Availability (POA) more effectively. After 20 years as a driver, during which time I’ve added ADR, HIAB and Moffett to my skills, you might think there’s nothing left to learn. But attending my first CPC course has made me a more efficient driver.”
Accessing training couldn’t be easier. Driver Hire is just one of many organisations offering accredited training. “Throughout the UK we offer a flexible DCPC training package”, says Jim Kirwin, Driver Hire’s Network Trainer. “It isn’t going to go away, so the sooner you start the better.”
