All the birthday invites were off for Colwyn Bay driver, Gordon Prior this year. That’s because he’d found the perfect way to spend his special day – on a Driver CPC course with Driver Hire!
Gordon, who works for specialist steel carriers, Sunhill Transport of Deeside, joined eight of his colleagues to brush up on his knowledge of digital tachographs and road traffic law. “I’m not married so, to be honest, I can’t think of a better way of spending my birthday than with my mates. We spend all week tramping around the UK and Europe, so the only time we can do our Driver CPC training is on a Saturday. This year it just happened to coincide with my birthday!”
To mark Gordon’s 54th, Driver Hire Chester bought him a birthday cake, some lager to enjoy later in the day, and he got a birthday kiss from Driver CPC trainer, Sue Davies.
Colin Hickson, owner of Driver Hire Chester & North Wales added: “We’re delighted that Gordon chose to spend his birthday with us. His keenness to get on with his Driver CPC training is to be admired. And, following the recent announcement by the Traffic Commissioners that there will be no clemency for drivers who haven’t completed their 35 hours of training by September 2014, it also makes sense.”
