Premier League for Scottish Franchisees
Wilson Gibb Management Services Ltd, which owns and operates Driver Hire offices in Edinburgh, Fife, Grangemouth, Motherwell, Newcastle and the Borders, has joined an elite group of SMEs (Small to Medium Sized Enterprises). Following another successful trading year, based on their turnover, Wilson Gibb is now one of the top 300 SME companies in Scotland. To be included in the listing, which is compiled by Scottish Business Insider magazine, companies must be registered, or have their head office, in Scotland.
Current director Darrin Gibb bought his first franchise in 1992, in partnership with Hugh Wilson. In due course Hugh retired, and in 1998 Darrin's current co-director Fiona Thompson joined the company - which now employs 40 staff.
“Obviously we’re delighted and just a little surprised to find ourselves in this elite group of companies,” says Darrin. “At the core of our success is Driver Hire’s business model. But our elevation to the top 300 SMEs list is also down to our commitment to quality, customer service and attention to detail. Of course we’re equally pleased that we’re contributing to the Scottish economy, and providing jobs for our staff who, in turn, find employment for the candidates who come to us looking for work.”
