New recruits strengthen Driver CPC training team
Driver Hire is strengthening its training business. Demand for Driver CPC coures is so high that the company has recruited two additional members of staff; Jim Kirwen and Mika Zonta.
Jim spent 25 years in the Armed Services, ending his career as a trainer at the Army School of Transport. Most recently he worked as a transport manager for BRS, based at a Morrison’s RDC. A keen cyclist, Jim is looking forward to his latest challenge: “DCPC is a massive project but one that will be brilliant for the industry, improving the status and professionalism of truck drivers,” says Jim.
Mika also comes from a road transport background, previously working as a transport manager for Clipper Logistics. “DCPC gives drivers a recognised industry qualification. Driver Hire are number one in their sector and this is a great opportunity to work for the market leaders on an industry-changing project,” Mika comments.
Driver Hire Training Ltd has 80 trained staff across the UK, making it the UK’s largest DCPC trainer. Since launching its training offer earlier this year it has delivered 55 courses and trained over 500 drivers.
“The range of training modules we’ve developed are proving highly popular,” says Richard Armitage, Driver Hire’s Head of Training. “Transport operators are attracted by the flexibility of our high quality, accredited training offer. Courses can be arranged at customers’ depots to fit in and around busy work schedules. In addition, our unique system of training credits qualifies them for free or discounted training. My prediction is that we are going to be keeping Jim and Mika very busy over the coming months.”
