More success ‘down under’

Chris Chidley, Driver Hire CEODriver Hire’s Australian business is booming. Turnover at Brisbane has just shot past AU$1m for the first time.

What’s more, the team in Brisbane passed this milestone in the first six months’ trading of the current financial year.

Driver Hire opened its first Australian office in Perth in January 2012, Brisbane was added in 2013 and Melbourne in 2014. In common with its English parent, Driver Hire Australia specialises in the provision of casual and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to the road transport and logistics industry.

Commenting on Driver Hire Brisbane’s achievement, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Group Chief Executive commented, “Driver Hire has set about raising the bar for the Australian recruitment industry by delivering a market-leading quality of service. Customers clearly like what we offer. The levels of business in Brisbane are exceptional for an office that is only just over a year old. Our success there – and across Australia – is down to the quality of our people, both in terms of the drivers we provide and our office staff who co-ordinate the service. Celebrations are definitely in order!”

As well as celebrating their current success, Chris is also looking forward to a bumper full year for the Brisbane office, predicting revenue well in excess of AU$2m: “Not only are Nick Phillips and his Brisbane team retaining their current customers, they’re also winning a lot of new business too. We have high hopes for the future, not just in Brisbane, but across the whole of Australia where we are looking to expand our network when further opportunities arise.”
