Driver Hire Australia has got away to a flying start. In less than six months since its launch, turnover at the Perth-based office has already passed the AS$1.5m mark - or just short of £1m.
The office offers both temporary and permanent recruitment for the supply chain and logistics sector. Its sister business, dh Appointments, offers a similar service to a wider selection of industries including mining, construction, tourism, accountancy and IT.
Group Operations Director Dean Hewitt is delighted with the progress to date: “There’s been a strong and favourable response to Driver Hire down under,” says Dean. “I feel we’re setting new standards in terms of service and professionalism. That’s being reflected in our excellent trading to date. Customers clearly like what we’re doing."
"I think another reason for our success is our ability to supply a wide range of services from temp and perm recruitment to training; everything from road train drivers through to managerial positions. We’re now looking to add further growth through organic expansion and, if suitable opportunities present themselves, through acquisitions.”
Commenting on the outstanding performance by Driver Hire Australia, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive added: “To say that I’m pleased is an understatement. This is an outstanding performance and a great start by Dean and Margaret Ann. It shows very clearly that the Driver Hire business model is transferable to new markets. It’s a great foundation for a growing business and proves that our decision to tap into the fast growing economy in Western Australia was absolutely right.”
