Driver Hire has announced an exciting network expansion programme focusing on the M1 corridor and the Midlands. Already earmarked for Driver Hire offices are Bedford, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard. In addition other sites have been identified in Chesterfield, Derby, Redditch, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
“Our expansion programme is the result of new funding from LDC, our private equity investors, who clearly see the potential of a larger Driver Hire network,” says Andrew Johnson, Driver Hire’s Managed Office Development Manager. “It’s designed to service areas that currently don’t have a dedicated Driver Hire office.”
To meet the changing demands of customers, some of the new locations will be Driver Hire ‘Super Offices’. This is a new type of Driver Hire office that will be bigger and offer even greater expertise on a wider range of services including temporary staff across driving and non-driving logistics roles, perm placements and training services.
New offices mean new jobs. Driver Hire’s ambitious expansion plans will create around 45/50 new jobs in the coming year presenting some fantastic opportunities for local job-seekers. And it will also provide better access to opportunities for drivers and other transport & logistics staff who are looking for temporary work.
“The Driver Hire network is largely franchised,” Andrew continues. “Our aim is to recruit a new breed of ‘apprentice entrepreneurs’, who we’ll train in every aspect of the highly successful Driver Hire business model. Whilst not exclusively, we are looking at graduates and other young professionals who may not have considered recruitment as a career option. If successful, a couple of years down the line, they could have the opportunity to buy the business they’re managing and become their own boss. A number of former managers in our network have already done this successfully.”
