The Edinburgh City office of Driver Hire is tops! Its recent outstanding business performance earned it an ‘Office of the Month’ award, beating off the challenge of Driver Hire’s 90-plus nationwide network. Their success was based on a big customer win, coupled with a request to recruit 46 candidates in just two weeks. This all helped the Edinburgh City team to achieve their highest weekly number of shifts for five years.
As Tony Goacher, Driver Hire’s Network Development Director explains, this was a great all-round performance by the office’s four person team. “To meet this recruitment challenge they generated around 400 enquiries through the smart use of jobsites, Facebook, texting existing candidates and, of course, working with their local Jobcentre. The team were stretched to the limits but they didn’t neglect existing clients and even found the time to win business with other new customers.”
Commenting on their award, Rachel McWilliams, Driver Hire Edinburgh City’s manager said: “Customer service is key to our success. And that means asking clients the right questions, listening to their specific requirements and, above all, meeting their needs. This meant we had to interview 125 candidates for a variety of roles including clerical, warehouse and delivery drivers. It was hard work so it’s great to have our efforts recognised in this way.”
Rachael, Scott, Leigh and Ross were presented with a trophy, certificate and magnum of champagne to celebrate their success. They’ve also collected points that they can spend on a wide range of prizes including activity days and consumer goods.
