Already a finalist in the ‘Irish News Workplace & Employment’ awards, it’s just been announced that Diane Maxwell, owner of Driver Hire Belfast, is now into the final round of the British Franchise Association (bfa) HSBC ‘Female Franchisee of the Year’ awards.
Diane bought the Belfast business in 2012 after managing it for the previous two years. Under her leadership the office has gone from strength to strength. It now provides recruitment services and Driver CPC training to around 120 customers and regularly finds work for 50 drivers a week. After a strong performance in 2013/14 it’s got away to another flying start in the current financial year; trading is currently 67% ahead of same time last year.
“To be nominated for a local award was very pleasing,” says Diane. “But to have our efforts recognised at a national level is fantastic. Of course, I have a great team working for me and this nomination reflects as much on them as it does on me.”
