There could be light at the end of the tunnel. That’s what an upbeat survey from Barclays Bank’s transport and logistics experts is predicting. The survey, which incorporates the views of 700 UK transport and logistics sector businesses, has revealed that 69% of them will create jobs in the next 12 months. Only 21% of those interviewed were expecting job cuts.
The jobs created are expected to be across the board. Respondents said that 96% would be at middle/junior and unskilled levels.
Commenting on the survey, Rob Riddleston, Head of Transport & Logistics at Barclays Corporate Banking said: “It’s positive to see that the majority of transport and logistics providers surveyed are confident about creating new positions over the next 12 months – and at all levels of the spectrum.”
