Question mark over questionnaire

Failure to return a questionnaire could lead to the loss of your Operator’s Licence. That’s the stark warning message coming from VOSA.

‘Transport Manager’ questionnaires were sent to all standard and international licence holders in September 2011. It looks as though some operators haven’t understood its importance and haven’t bothered completing it. Or, having completed it, it has gone astray in the post. There is also a suggestion that some operators have moved premises and haven’t advised VOSA of their new address, so the questionnaire was never received.

If you think you may be one of the laggards then now’s the time to act, because, according to Andrew Woolfall, a solicitor at Backhouse Jones: “ . . . it’s clear that VOSA may be beginning to act on those who haven’t returned the form.”

Fortunately there is a quick and easy way to check that your Operator’s Licence isn’t under threat. The names of all nominated transport managers were removed from VOSA’s website. They are only reinstated once the questionnaire has been received. So a quick visit to VOSA’s website is all that’s needed to put your mind at rest.
