Rhys Davies Logistics continues strong growth

Welsh logistics giant Rhys Davies has secured another new contract, this time with food packaging manufacturer Seda UK.
Seda UK - a branch of the Italian based Seda International - specialises in producing recyclable and bio-degradable packaging.
It already counts McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut amongst its clients. Now, after striking a deal with Rhys Davies Logistics, both companies could be looking to expand further; potentially driving up both manufacture and logistics recruitment.
Rhys Davies is currently seeing expansion of its own, following the announcement of a new base in the North of England to enable it to deliver to its northern-most clients within 24 hours. Despite the investment in Newton Aycliffe, the main company base will still however remain in Blackwood, South Wales.
Leighton Szade, Seda's Logistics Manager, explained to packagingeurope.com how the changeover came about. "We'd been working with our previous logistics companies for some time and had a good working relationship," he said. "But with the rapid increase in our business some of them were not always aligned to our business expectations."
Adding, Szade told product-packaging.co.uk: "We needed a company that could handle the volume and expand with us and Rhys Davies is ideally positioned to do that.
"They were also able to provide comprehensive monthly KPIs to help us manage our distribution budget and processes."
