Entries have been declared open for the Annual Awards for Excellence, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT).
This could be positive news for logistics companies who have excelled themselves; perhaps in terms of the driver training provided to employees, or the quality of service provided to their customers.
According to Materials Handling World Magazine, the awards will recognise the outstanding achievements of companies working in the transport and logistics industries. It is hoped they will encourage more industry professionals to keep working to reach the highest possible standards of quality within their work.
"The awards are a celebration of the pioneering spirit that forges growth and leadership in the industry," the magazine said.
"Whether your organisation is an international giant or a small company, CILT believes that exceptional performances should highlighted and applauded."
Those lucky enough to be nominated for an award will be invited to a dinner on October 20th, in London; where a panel will decide their fate.
Categories up for grabs this year include the Passenger Transport award, Young Manager of the Year, Logistics Best Practice and the Transport, Policy, Planning and Implementation award.
Cilt UK said: "The importance of winning an award cannot be underestimated - in these uncertain economic times, organisations need to maximise their appeal and boost their profile - what better way than being nominated as a finalist in the awards."
