The 'Encouraging Women into Franchising Awards' have opened for entry, according to the Select your Franchise blog.
According to writer Joel Caws, the event is the first ever seen of its kind; and will provide an excellent opportunity for industry experts and operators to recognise and celebrate the input from females working in franchising.
The winners of the awards will be announced at a special ceremony in May, held in London and sponsored by the EWIF Group (Encouraging Women in Franchising).
Founder and chairman of the EWIF Group, Clive Sawyer, made a statement regarding the awards: "The awards are an exciting way of publicly recognising the successes of women within the franchising industry."
"EWIF Group members inspire, educate and support women who are considering, or who are already involved in franchising."
The awards may inspire more women throughout the UK to consider the best franchise opportunities on offer in Britain; in a bid to win one of the four coveted titles at next year's awards.
Franchiseek.com gave an indication of what the four awards would cover, which included 'Women Franchisor of the Year', 'Woman franchise Service Provider of the Year', 'Woman Franchisee of the Year' and 'Young Woman Franchisee of the Year'.
