Our People


The network was established in 1983 and has grown to over 100 offices in the UK.  We are the largest professional driving agency in the market place and still growing.


Our aim is to provide a high quality and reliable service to our clients at a commercial charge rate and therefore offer good value for money.


Driver Hire is mainly a franchised network, which means that most offices are owned by a local business person, with a local knowledge and personal commitment. 


Driver Hire Preston has been trading for over 25 years and is owned by Simon and Karen Wright, who have 20 + years experience in the Driving recruitment industry.  Simon & Karen are ably assisted by Carla Powell as Operations Manager and David Forrest as our Sales and Training Consultant. As a team we are all committed to maintaining our very high level of service. 



The network is knit together, and offers a high consistent standard, by Driver Hire Nationwide who provide a Regional Support Team in conjunction with IS09001/2000 and Investors in People accreditation.  Ongoing training and advice are also provided.


Driver Hire offers a genuine, personal 24hr/7day per week service not an answerphone or call centre.  Candidates are only employed after a thorough interview and assessment.  Licences are checked every three months as a minimum and copies are kept on file.. In addition, at least two relevant references are taken before the driver takes the wheel of a vehicle.


Drivers are treated with consideration, understanding and respect and they receive a written Terms of Engagement specifying their minimum pay rate.  Wages are paid promptly and fairly.


Uniforms and protective clothing are provided where necessary.
