We raised £1,677 for BBC Children in Need
22 November 2010
In 2009 we raised £1,000 – in 2010 we raised £1,677.
It wasn’t easy and at times it was quite frankly embarrassing, however we did beat our target of £1,000 by some distance – so thank you to everyone that helped us along the way!
Our magnificent total was pledged during the show and despite the fact Terry Wogan didn’t mention Wilson Gibb or Driver Hire in particular, we know that we played our part in the £18,000,000+ that was raised by the end of the show.
Alongside the shifts for pounds scheme that raised the majority of the cash, we must also give special mention to the following people
Driver Hire Fife’s drivers – each of whom donated money to the appeal, adding over £200 to the total,
Driver Hire Group Services – who very kindly donated £400 to our efforts,
Our staff in the Edinburgh City, Edinburgh West, Fife & Grangemouth branches and the Payroll department – each of who paid money for the ‘privilege’ of wearing pyjamas to work.
The ‘dare devils’ from the above branches - who ventured out into their local town centres in order to raise more money from their colleagues – despite the plummeting temperatures.
Many thanks to all of the customers that supported us on the day – it’s was great fun and more importantly raised a lot of money for a great cause!
Below is a picture of Barry from our Fife branch in his local bank wearing a very fetching pink babygrow - a trip that raised £25!
